Sade Sati which is 7 1/2 yrs of Saturn’s transit through the 12th, 1st and 2nd houses is not always bad. In fact, any transits of Saturn are not as bad as we all fear. Saturn is the planet of Justice and Karma and so it is natural for most of us to fear this planet. Similar to the fear we have towards the Law and order keepers.
If we keep respect rather than keeping fear, then Saturn’s transit is always fruitful to the native. Saturn is the only planet that plays with our weaknesses and strength and so during the sade sati period, one faces the challenges related to those things in life just to let you know how tough is today’s material / karmic world is. So in other words, Saturn is the best teacher to train you in this living world.
How Saturn affects a person during the transit, depends on the position of Saturn in their birth chart. We at times see that an afflicted Saturn sits quietly for most of the time and then all of the sudden it strikes with its tests of hurdles, restrictions and sufferings in life. This is because Saturn is either weak or afflicted and not in a position to take the whole charge of its strength until its Dasha or “Saturn’s favourable” transit period comes up.
If Saturn in a person’s birth chart is strong for example, Saturn as a Lagna lord and posited in a friendly Rashi or with high directional strength, or be in Vargottam state. Here, Saturn already got all the authority to take charge of its energy upon that person throughout his/her life and not waiting for a specific sade sati or dasha period. Such people usually will not feel any difference during Saturn’s period.
